ccording to the Intergovernmental Panel On Climate Change (IPCC) report, around 70% of the world’s population will live in the city by 2050. This is precisely why we need resilient and sustainable cities. The project focuses on improving the management of urban waters. The Rain Gardens are low environmental impact works, specifically these are depressed areas of no more than 50 cm, which use the slope to collect runoff water from small adjacent waterproof surfaces.

Plants within the Rain Gardens absorb nutrients and water by releasing it through the perspiration process. The species used were assessed on the basis of resistance to cold, well-drained soils, little allergenic and flowering period. Finally, the installation of a software capable of measuring and correlating different data obtained by monitoring the Rain garden is expected. All this will be available and searchable thanks to the installation of two screens arranged within the project area.
