Claude Pasquer – landscape architect

Claude Pasquer, is a government approved landscape architect with a diploma from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure du Paysage [National Higher Institute for Landscape] in Versailles, who has been working professionally in landscaping for 18 years and more particularly, in development and restoration work in protected areas. He is involved in the provision of vocational training at the Versailles School and is in charge of the ´Croquis de Jardinª [Garden Sketch] course.

For 15 years he has been working on reinventing Garden Sculpture, with his favourite medium being a simple material: hexagonal wire netting. He shapes it, cuts it and compresses it to give life to a new vocabulary. His approach is part of a dynamic process moving in the direction of “natural” gardening and sustainable development.

Concept

T

his garden is a promenade area, which evokes the evolution of the feeling of love.
In a theatrical setting, where plant and metal mix, the garden is a staging of the Rose.
In taking possession of the garden space, the designers innovate by deploying punctuation that generates walking. The architectural elements are modules that unfold, like a theatrical decor and evolve over the scenes of the garden.

Element 1: Reception door / incentive to seduction
Element 2: Lattice perspective door, filters sight / Love remains inaccessible
Element 3: Mirror which allows the reflection / the truth of the feeling
Element 4: The Bench to immortalize the intensity of the feeling of love
Along this romantic stroll, Love, under all its faces, is symbolized by the Rose. The white rose symbolizes Purity, Honesty, Innocence and Chaste Love. Pink is the color that expresses Seduction. The red rose symbolizes passionate love.
