Concept
he Eye of Providence transcends many cultures and faiths from early Christianity to Buddhism. It can symbolise the eye of God watching over all humanity, representing moral conscience, clairvoyance, light and truth. Looking directly into the eye is said to reveal honesty. In this garden The Eye of Providence is ‘The All-Seeing Eye’ of Mother Nature herself. Her living iris of greenery is elevated to depict her omniscience observes our destructive woes. The charred remains, the lingering smoke, the remnant winds instil an emotive response as we are drawn to the eye of the storm. Here, we bask in the beauty of ancient species in the woodland beyond. Taking the effort to self-reflect we enter and see ourselves reflected amongst the plantings. Their magnificence and longevity juxtapose our brief existence on the planet. I hope this garden will awaken us to our errors, humble us, inspire us and reconnect us with the essence of Mother Nature herself, so we can make peace with her once more
