Concept
n future people will be able to re-create about everything, learning from nature but also risking its balanced system. In future the hardest part would be to recall how our planet looked like before we thought we knew it all. We got inspired by two types of ecosystems with inherent techniques for environmental transformation in its own interest. Beyond the botanic names there lay smart adaptation solutions: changes in soil composition and hydration, adaptation of pollination mechanisms, co-operation with other species. We look closely at two types of disregarded environments: wetlands, peatlands or bogs and disturbed, barren areas. In this project we focus on their main actors: “habitat manipulators” and “pioneer species”. In a futuristic setting visitors can travel through re-constructed fragments of these ecosystems. The paths outline cell structure of sphagnum moss, our main “water reserving” protagonist. Bridging the aesthetics and functionality of nature and inspired by WestWorld-like experimental terrains we encourage you to believe in future which will preserve these ecosystems alive.
